This family-friendly fly-in safari in Kenya is an exceptionally good value.  By utilizing small plane flights, travel times are kept to a minimum and all the lodges/camps on safari offer full-time childrens' educational and entertainment programs included in the price. The daily programs are organized and led by carefully selected and trained local naturalists, and the children get plenty of opportunity to interact with African children of their own age. A typical day out in the Mara with might include a visit to a “manyatta” village to watch a dance or to help the local boys separate young and old sheep. Other activities include: learning to shoot a bow and arrow, making fire with sticks, making traditional jewelry, playing animal hide-and-seek, learning tracking and identify animals, insects and butterflies.  Activity groups are age appropriate for kids and teens, and parents have plenty to do, too, on this Kenya family safari.

DAY 1 - NAIROBI: Arrive Jomo Kenyatta International in Nairobi where you’ll be met and transferred to the Norfolk Hotel for overnight before beginning your Kenya Family Safari early tomorrow morning. (Airline meals)
 
DAY 2-3 - SAMBURU: Fly directly from Nairobi to Samburu National game reserve, renowned for its splendid landscapes and rare animal species. Spend the next 2 days at Samburu Intrepids Club, located on the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro river. Game viewing drives included. Overnight at Samburu Intrepids Camp - luxury camping in one of the world’s last truly great wilderness areas. Samburu Intrepids looks out over riverbanks where herds of elephant, buffalo and zebra come daily to drink. (B, L, D)

DAY 4-5 - RIFT VALLEY: Fly via Nairobi to Lake Naivasha, one of Kenya’s most beautiful fresh-water lakes. Spend the next 2 nights at the Rift Valley Lodge with a wide variety of activities which can be arranged locally such as boat trips, fishing, golf, guided forest walks, horseback riding, local excursions and day trips to lake Nakuru, Mount Longonot or the Aberdare Mountains. Dinner and overnights at the Rift Valley Lodge. (B, L, D)

DAY 6-7 - MASAI MARA: Fly directly to Masai Mara game reserve. Spend the next 2 days exploring the reserve via game viewing drives.  The Masai Mara, named for the Masai people and the Mara River which divides it, is famous for its world class diversity and concentration of wildlife as well as the Great Wildebeest Migration. Overnight at Mara Intrepids Club or Siana Springs Camp. (B, L, D)

DAY 8 - DEPART: Fly back to Nairobi, transfer to Carnivore restaurant for dinner then to the airport for your departure home. (B, D)
