Staying in a permanent tented camp allows you to sleep under canvas with all the luxuries of home. Many tented properties in Africa are permanent structures and include raised wooden floors, en suite bathrooms, fine linens and room butlers. These tents traditionally offer luxurious beds, beautiful interior decorations and oftentimes comfortable deck furniture on spacious front sitting areas overlooking a river or the vast African savannah. Some camps rival any 5-star hotel room in other parts of the world. Typically, these camps are small and exclusive, accommodating just 10-30 guests. Many are located in private reserves, providing even more privacy and exclusivity.
Luxury Mobile Camps
Luxury mobile camps let you sleep under canvas with wonderful service and food, but without lots of neighbors. Harkening back to the original roots of safari, mobile tented camping is a luxurious way to experience the bush. These camps are more lightweight, so camp can be moved a few times a year for optimal wildlife viewing, yet this style of camping maintains all the comforts travelers have come to expect. Luxury mobile tented camping provides individual tents along with a dining tent that serves as the common area where meals are taken. Luxury mobile tented camps have showers and toilets attached to the tents and offer full beds and furniture.
Basic Mobile Camps
The ultimate in adventure, basic mobile camps are made up of small, domed tents with the basics provided by your camp staff. Adventure camps are lightweight and offer 9×9 domed tents with cots, bedding, and separate toilet and shower tents. All set-up, cooking, clean-up, and maintenance is done by professional camp staff. This type of camping is for the most adventurous travelers!
